Cecilia Bercovitch

Violin and viola

Cecilia Bercovich (Madrid, 1986) is a versatile violin and viola player, and appears on stage as soloist, concertmaster and chamber music player.

Born to musical parents, her main teacher has been her father Victor Bercovich, and she graduated with Higher Honor Distinction on both instruments. She has performed under the direction of great maestri such as P. Boulez, K. Penderecki, P. Eötvös or M. Pintscher at several festivals (Lucerne, MITO, Bayreuth…) and is nowadays going deeper into composing and conducting. An enthusiast of artistic creation of our time, Cecilia often comissions and premieres works. As a keen arranger and improviser, her scores have been performed in Europe, Africa and Canada. She is a member of Trío Arbós (National Music Prize 2013) and teaches at the Katarina Gurska High School of Music in Madrid.

Since 2016 she enjoys a joyful collaboration with Ensemble Variances.
